Jonathan Wendeln, RN

Jonathan Wendeln is a Registered Nurse and the founder of Pediatric Picks, where he brings a clinician's eye to baby and child product reviews. He has practiced bedside nursing since 2016 across some of the most demanding areas of acute care — cardiothoracic intensive care, the operating room, and post-acute rehabilitation. He holds BLS and ACLS certification. His path into medicine began in the field as an EMT before he earned his nursing degree and moved into the operating room, assisting in surgical procedures under strict sterile and safety protocols. He went on to spend more than three years in the cardiothoracic ICU, caring for critically ill patients and managing advanced life-support therapies such as ECMO, continuous renal replacement (CRRT), and intra-aortic balloon pumps, where he also served as a charge nurse and preceptor. He currently practices in post-acute care, caring for patients across rehabilitation, wound care, and complex medical needs. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Millersville University and is advancing his training toward Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification. That clinical background shapes how Pediatric Picks evaluates products. Jonathan isn't a pediatric clinician — his expertise is in nursing, patient safety, and the discipline of weighing evidence — and he pairs it with hands-on product research in real family life. Every recommendation is checked against safety standards, materials, recalls, and the research behind the claims before it ever earns a spot. The goal is simple: give parents the same straight, safety-first guidance he'd give his own family.

How Pediatric Picks Got Started

Pediatric Picks evaluates baby gear against published safety standards — AAP, CPSC, and ASTM — and verified manufacturer specifications. Every recommendation is grounded in that research, never sponsored placements.
